Yesterday's game was so much fun. It was great to see the kids quickly pick up on playing in a game. In all honesty, I was not planning on pitching yesterday, but the last second I figured we could give it a try for and go from there and they did AMAZING! I am really excited to watch them continue to improve throughout the year.
Also, thank you for all of your encouragement, cheering and helping with transitionining between batting and fielding during the game.
Below is some infomration about the rest of the year:
We will be getting jerseys, I just don't know when yet. Until then please continue to wear black shirts as our team name is the White Sox (this is hard for me being a Cubs fan).
Please arrive to the field at least 15 minutes before the start of the game in scheduled. This allows the kids to practice their catching, throwing and grounders; and allows me to double check my roster to see if everyone is present and make adjustmenst if needed.
There will be no particular order to the batting order. This past game was alphabetical by last name, but I will continue to switch it up so everyone will bat towards the beginning of the order, and towards the end of the order.
I will do my best to move everyone around the field during the year. To help everyone get an idea of where to play, and how to play that position, each player will play the first two innings in one spot, and then the last inning, everyone will move to a different position. This will ensure that everyone plays at least one inning in the infield each game.
Have a great Sunday, and I will see everyone tomorrow!
